I talk a lot about breathing during my postpartum workouts. How and when your breathing may be even more important than the move that you are doing. I often hear other saying to "belly breathe" or I see them sucking in their belly button and flaring their ribs. To protect your core, practice diaphragmatic breathing or 360 breath. Imagine your ribs opening like an umbrella or place a strap around your rib cage and breath into the strap all around. Keep your shoulder's relaxed and avoid sucking in at your belly button. On the exhale, engage and compress your core muscles. When your core is engaged you can do the hard part of your exercise move.
