Football For A New Tomorrow Denmark (FANT) and FANT-SL has officially opened the Lumley Beach Artificial Turf Pitch and organized a football competition for male athletes with disabilities through the Disability Network Sierra Leone (DisNET-SL). This event is themed "Change the World Through Sport." The league features two teams: Flying Stars, the primary team, and OBT, a subsidiary team from Denmark that is affiliated with Flying Stars.
Cecelia Harwaberg, the co-founder of FANT-Denmark, stated that they have organized around six hundred amputees across Sierra Leone. She acknowledged the challenge of involving all disabled individuals but noted that the Artificial Turf will enhance their playing skills. Our reporter, Aminata Tarawallie, has more on this story.
