(Skip to about 1 minute in…). Be careful with replacement part kits! Double-check flange sizes and clearances! The new/replacement water pump had a shallower flange than the factory one and I didn’t notice. I kept tightening the bolt until it punched through deeper than it should have, into the front cylinder wall. It felt like going through a membrane of butter with the wrench. Ruined a Ford 300 4.9 i-6.
