GONE FOREVER - Walking Jalan Peel, Shelley, Nakhoda Yusof

I took a walk around Jalan Peel, Jalan Shelley, and Jalan Nakhoda Yusof as this area was a place I frequented as a teenager. My mate lived in Jalan Nakhoda Yusof 2 and I was keen to see what it looked like today. I still have images in my head from those days and experiences that have forged the person I am today. I didn’t recognise any of the roads aforementioned and it was like walking around a different country. When I eventually got to where Jalan Nakhoda Yusof 2, it was nothing like how I remembered it… maybe just the dusty road could qualify as a piece… while surveying further, I stumbled upon a housing estate that was painted in bright colours. There was a community event going on. The young boys I met were friendly and jolly. The place was jolly and amazing. I was glad to stumble upon this place that was once a tin mining area and it uplifted my spirits! Restored my faith in humanity!

I visit places in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya, some known, some off the beaten path. Towns, parks, nature, buildings, and whatever that is interesting to me. I will be including other places in Malaysia soon, but for now, I'm exploring all I can closer to home. I am 66 (as of 2025) and intend to explore this world in my third lifetime.
