This tutorial is intermediate in difficulty. I show you how to draw guidelines and paint a 12 inch wooden cross to look like stained glass, or jeweled, using dotting tools. The style and colors are based on the beautiful, old churches I visited on a trip to Jerusalem. All tools and paints are listed below.

Paints used:
For deep magenta I mixed up:
Artists Loft Medium Body Metallic Red+Folk Art Bright Pink+ Golden Fluid Quinacridone Magenta
For Oranges I mixed up:
Liquitex Basics medium body Cadmium Yellow+Anita's Craft paint Autumn Orange+Golden Fluid Pyrrole Orange. (added white to lighten)
For Yellow I mixed up:
Liquitex medium Body Cadmium Yellow+ FolkArt Medium Yellow+ Golden Fluid Diarylide Yellow
For Blues I mixed up:
Liquitex Basics medium Body Ultramarine blue+ DecoArt Americana True Blue (I added white for lighter shade)
For Gold I used:
Golden Fluid Iridescent Fine Gold
To thin paints that were too thick I mixed in Liquitex gloss pouring medium
