Summer time smallmouth fishing can be hot on some of the hottest days; and the top water hit is the most exciting. The blowups will get your heart beating, and no matter how old you are, you will feel like a kid again.
Fly Fishing and wading in creeks is the most satisfying for me since they are usually safer; but more importantly, the small creeks are thought of as to be to shallow and don’t hold nice size fish. Well, in this video, you will see that it is not necessarily true.
One of the best flies that never fail me is a Streapper. They are very easy to tie and cast nicely with a 5wt or heavier rod… I use a 7wt with a 9wt line (casts like a dream).
