→ WHY I DO IT:
I have been catching bullfrogs from this block-sized slough for the past 3 years and if anything, the bullfrogs population has and is still increasing. Every year that I return, there just seems to be more and more frogs that roam this little swamp. I started fishing for bullfrogs because I read the article (#1 in the list above) and found that bullfrogs were a prohibited species here in the State of Washington. As someone who understands and respects conservation, I fear for the loss of native plants, native insects, native animals, native reptiles, native birds, and native frogs/amphibians. Bullfrogs are not native here and destroy many vital parts of the native ecosystem.
For some reason, the years prior to 2014 there were barely any bullfrogs. 2014 was the first year when we would just walk along the bank of the swamp and bullfrogs would just scatter everywhere when we got a little close to them. When I say everywhere, I mean EVERYWHERE. Thus, I tried to do Fish and Game a favor by trying to remove these bullfrogs as I have noticed that the fish being caught in this little slough are getting smaller and smaller every year. Besides that idea that bullfrogs are slimy, ugly, and weird-looking for some of you, they make great table fare. Help our native ecosystem by taking out bullfrogs because you do the ecosystem a favor and provide yourself with some great tasty frog legs!

Welcome back to another Catch and Cook video! I know this may have took a weird turn from my first episode with the Rainbow Trout, but Bullfrogs are something everyone should start considering. In this catch and cook, I teach you where to look for bullfrogs, how I catch them, how I prepare them, how I cook them, and how they tasted. Join in along and enjoy!
