Had to remove my fairings in order to install my Yoshimura Frame Sliders (AKA Chassis Protectors). Figured I'd film my efforts for anyone wondering how to take them off a 2014 (2012-2015) Ninja 650.
You technically don't have to remove the whole front assembly to remove the fairings. Just unscrew the top right and left covers, the quick rivets and the 2 fairing bolts. You should then be able to slide out the fairing without damaging the covers. I believe the manual has you do it the way I went through though which is a little more time consuming.
