Giving New Life to Old Material - Making a Storage Shelf for the Shop Using Repurposed Materials

Welcome to my channel dedicated to all things DIY and creative! Here, I share how I find innovative and resourceful ways to make repairs, gadgets, or homemade tools. With a focus on improvisation, I often use the tools and materials I have on hand to tackle those DIY shop projects.

In this video I’m making a simple storage shelf to house some of my milling machine tools and accessories. I’ll be using material left over from some of my previous video projects and saving money in the process. The shelves themselves are made from a piece of ¾ inch plywood that was used as part of a concrete form in my video, “DIY Septic Tank Access Riser, Making Concrete Forms and Bending Rebar”. The shelf mounting brackets/rails are also ¾ inch plywood that made an appearance in my video, “Moving a 4700 pound Bridgeport Milling Machine”, where they were used as shims to raise the machine off the floor for transport. The black paint and OSB are leftovers from my video, “Welding Project: Homemade Instrument Carts for the Marching Band”. The only thing that I bought specifically for this project was the paint strainers for about $2.00. Now I just need to decide on an appropriate title.
