In this exclusive vlog, Engr. Naveed Khan investigates one of Karachi’s most pressing issues — the Water Tanker Mafia. While millions of Karachi residents suffer from severe water shortages in their homes, hundreds of private tankers can be seen roaming the streets every hour, selling water that should be reaching citizens through the city’s pipelines.

In this video, we conducted a unique 3-minute experiment on University Road, Karachi, right in front of the Federal Urdu University, to count how many water tankers pass by in such a short time. The results are shocking — tankers pass one after another, showing how big this parallel water business has become in Karachi.

Despite promises from authorities and Sindh Government to resolve the Karachi water crisis, the situation continues to worsen. Tankers transport thousands of gallons of water daily while residents of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Federal B Area, and other localities face dry taps.

Through this ground report, we highlight how the Karachi Water Tanker Mafia operates, how it affects common citizens, and why the Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) needs urgent reforms.
