In a world taken over by colossal monsters, Joel Dawson and the rest of humanity have been living underground for seven years. However, Joel's monotonous existence is disrupted when he reconnects with his girlfriend Aimee, now residing in a coastal colony 85 miles away. Overcome with feelings for her, Joel disregards the dangers and decides to embark on a treacherous journey through monster-infested terrain to be with her. He realizes that something is missing from his life and is willing to take a chance on love, even if it means facing the unknown dangers that lie ahead.
