As the hijab controversy at St. Rita’s Public School comes to an end, the school’s interests remain fully protected. The government, however, is left humiliated before the public. Unable to take a clear stand—either in support of allowing religious attire or in asserting its authority over a school that follows the central syllabus—the government has chosen to flee in spite of putting on a show on social media.
