Taal Batangas and Tagaytay City are connected by public transportation. These two places created and shaped by the fury of Taal Volcano can be visited in a day by the backdroor travel through the ridge.
This I learned this from the locals who have been travelling regularly to these two places.
From Taal, take the Lemery-bound jeepney which stops at the Lemery market. At the back of the Lemery market (left side), board the jeepney with the signage "Boundary". This goes to Nasugbu-Tagaytay boundary. The jeepney takes the Diokno Highway, which is actually the ridge of the ancient Taal Volcano, to reach "Boundary".
Upon arrival at "Boundary", take another jeepney going to Olivares.
To get from Tagaytay to Taal, take the jeepney at Olivares Terminal to Boundary, then another jeepney to Lemery, and finally, a Lipa-bound or Batangas-bound jeepney that passes through Lipa.
Last trip on either direction is up to 5PM.
