Prehistoric Parasites Were Way Worse Than You Think

Parasites didn’t used to be subtle.

Long before mosquitoes and ticks became the quiet, annoying background noise of modern life, parasites were absolute monsters. Thumb-sized fleas drilled into dinosaur skin. Ticks swelled with blood inside nests full of hatchlings. Worms bored through shells, invaded lungs, destroyed jaws, and starved the largest predators to ever walk the Earth.
