In this overland adventure, I explore the eastern side of the Great Basin starting with Osceola, Nevada's longest lived placer mine and camp. After exploring the mines and ghost town I set my boondock in some pinnon pines under the shadow of Mt. Wheeler. The next day I head into Great Basin National Park in hopes of making it to the top of the 13064' Mt. Wheeler but due to snow I am only able to make it to 9,200' Mather Overlook. After leaving the park I head south into remote Utah where I make my way overland through the Escalante Desert. My journey takes me through open Range Land where the cattle and wild horses outnumber the people 10 to 1. ultimately, I make it to Mountain Meadows where I explore the somber National Historic Landmark for the Mountain Meadows Massacre. This is the location where 120 Pioneers where brutally murdered in 1957 on there way from Arkansas to California.
