The Power of Prayer: Introduction to Collect Writing with Dean Katz
Do you want to deepen your prayer life and enrich your understanding of Episcopal worship?
Collects are a particular form of ancient prayer that lie at the center of our liturgy. These concise prayers focus our hearts and minds on the specific purpose of our prayer for a particular day or occasion.
The Book of Common Prayer is filled with collects for every season, but the form of the Collect also provides a powerful means to shape our own prayers, offering a guide for clarifying and expressing our deepest needs and desires to God.
Beginning this January 2026, Dean Katz will convene a monthly gathering over Zoom to hold space for our community to grow in relationship with collects as a means of growing in relationship with God and one another.
This video serves as a brief information session and introduction to this enriching series.
