Hidden craft of Uttarakhand!
Artistic bamboo craft- fancy baskets, lamp shades, hangings, boxes, gifts and lot more. A remote village- Kafalkote in Almora district of Kumaon region of Uttarakhand in lower Himalayas is making all this, and all of them are purely hand-made. These people have moved from traditional work of making soops an baskets from bamboos and diversified to improve the income as well as help in stopping migration from the hills.

बांस से खूबसूरत कलाकारी। कुमाऊँ इलाके में अल्मोड़ा ज़िले के कफलकोट गाँव में बांस का काम तो पुश्तैनी रूप से होता है लेकिन पिछले कुछ सालों से यहाँ के लोगों ने इस काम में विविधता लाकर बांस से नई-नई चीजें बनानी शुरू की हैं। हालाँकि वे यह काम कुछ सालों से कर रहे हैं लेकिन इस बारे में स्थानीय तौर पर भी लोगों को ज्यादा नहीं पता। एक झलक यहां के काम और यहाँ के कारीगरों की.
