About Aashapuri Mahadev Temple:

Ashapuri Mahadev Temple is a Hindu temple located in Bhaktapuri, Nepal. As the name of the temple itself can be known that this temple is completely dedicated to Lord Shiva. Ashapuri Mahadev Temple is also known as Ashapureshwar Mahadev Temple. This temple of Lord Mahadev, the god of gods, is situated amidst the hills. The natural scenery around the temple is very beautiful. There are two small natural springs near the temple, the sound of water is heard in the temple. Ashapuri Mahadev Temple is located at a distance of about 6 kms from Doleshwar Mahadev Temple. This temple of Mahadev is small but a large number of devotees come to see Mahadev.

Near the Ashapur Mahadev Temple, there is a Shiva Linga with many lines of Lord Shiva. Before entering the temple, there are sources of water stream, from which water flows continuously. Devotees purify themselves with water before having darshan of Lord Shiva.

Story of Ashapuri Mahadev Temple

There is a story related to the construction of Ashapuri Mahodav Temple. It is believed that during the Mahabharata period when the Pandavas were in exile. Mahadev then commanded the Pandavas to stay at the place and blessed that Mahadev would fulfill everyone’s inner desires and hopes, it is still believed that when one comes to this temple for hope and fulfillment of inner desire So fulfill their wishes. Lord Shiva makes everything possible. There is also a small stream near the temple where people light a lamp and let it flow there with desire.
