** Important point **
Using the Multicorder to record vMix Call inputs is not officially supported by vMix. See here:

See end of description for more thoughts on this.

This clip explores why you might use Multicorder to create isolated (ISO) recordings of vMix Call remote guests - namely to have a complete recording of those inputs without camera changes and, crucially, with clean, unmixed audio. You can then take those files and edit them as you will. If you just record the programme Master Output it will reflect any camera/input switches you make during the live production/recording and your audio sources will be mixed.
Multicorder is a great option to give you flexibility and good quality 'rushes' to work with instead - but it's only available with vMix 4K and vMix Pro.
I used Multicorder for a paid job recently and this case study is the basis of my video. The edited example can be see here:
• UEL Breakfast Show: Cult Heroes & Semi-Fin...
and starts at about 13:10

--- Multicord not officially supported to record vMix Calls
Please read the vMix Knowledge Base link near the start of the description. This details why this method is not officially supported. In essence, if your vMix Call Remote Guest drops out momentarily, or if their video changes - for example they turn their phone around, the Multicord stops and then starts writing a new file. So you could have several, many even, files for one interview.
When I tested this did in fact happen. The test remote guest turned his phone around and afterwards we noticed this created a new Multicord file.
During the real remote guest recording we did not have any problems. The main interview was 17 minutes and created one file. I then stopped recording while we discussed any additional pick-up lines/questions. When we knew what we wanted I started the Multicord again for the last few minutes of chat. And again that made one file.
So my experience has been fine with this method.
Again, the need to have a stable, sufficient bandwidth internet connection at all locations is vital.
However I am very much NOT a vMix Power User. I use it several times a year for professional work, usually simple livestreaming of events or live streaming vMix Call remote guest interviews.
This was the first time I've had to edit (or provide the rushes to edit) a remote guest interview. If I was doing this regularly, and doing lots of vMix Call pre-records, I would use the method listed in the vMix Knowledge Base above - essentially setting up an additional Output recording and a Audio Bus for each caller.
