Hello,

This video is for a contest called Our Generation Contest.
We had three themes to choose from and I chose feminism, my topic is that we have a choice. I didn't want to use only one subject, it didn't feel like me so, I found this idea that can use many issues together but still inside one topic, the choice.
I think it is very important for young girls to know from now that they are worthy and they have freedom to do whatever they want. It is not because we are female that we deserve less, we always have a choice and it is up to us if we accept to be treated less or to start doing something about it. I know that there are women out there that can’t raise their voice because they face dangerous situations if they do. That is why is even more important for us who can, to speak up.

Okay I want to clarify a quote from the video that can be confusing before it is misunderstood. When the woman says that we can have sex outside of marriage, it means that we don’t have to get married to have sex (it can be understood as cheating but no, I know cheating is wrong). Indeed, There are still many cultures and religions that make girls get married to their boyfriends if they want to have sex. I mean a man can have sex before and outside of marriage so why a woman can’t? Right.

I also want to say that this isn’t intended to devalue men. Men are awesome too, it is about equality. Men and women have equal worth and can both do extraordinary things. I just think we need to empower women that at the moment are not as free and don’t have the same rights as men, which are HUMAN RIGHTS! We are humans too. Girls are confronted with beauty rules and expectations every day. Women have so much pressure on them which make it so difficult because women loose their confidence and self esteem from a young age.

Anyways, there are so many things to say about this subject but the video couldn’t be longer than 4 min so I did the best I could. I will make more videos about this, it is something that is very important to me and I want to speak up about it.
