Cellulitis:
Cellulitis can be defined as bacterial infection of the bone and its surrounding periosteum and soft tissues that can occur anywhere in the body.
The focus of this video will be facial cellulitis originating from dental infections.
Facial cellulitis is an acute and edematous infection of the oral or facial tissues most probably caused by a dental infection. The infection arises and spreads either from a necrotic pulp or from a periapical abscess of a tooth into the bone, the periosteum and then through the fascial planes of the soft tissues.
Cellulitis which arises from dental infections and which requires further discussion are of two types, Ludwig’s Angina and Cavernous sinus thrombosis. Watch the video to Learn more.
