Obstacle avoidance was ON during the entire flight — but the DJI Mini 5 Pro still crashed while auto-tracking my car.
In this video, I test DJI Mini 5 Pro car tracking and obstacle avoidance performance using raw, unedited 4K 30fps footage. No ND filters, no color grading, no effects — this is exactly how the footage comes straight from the drone.
This real-world test shows why you should DO NOT fully trust obstacle avoidance, especially in Follow / ActiveTrack modes. Sensors can miss thin objects like trees and branches, and speed + tracking can increase crash risk.
