Choosing Homebirth | A 16-Hour Unmedicated Birth Story

In this video, I share my full homebirth story and the reasons I chose to give birth at home. After years of education, preparation, and assisting at homebirths alongside a licensed midwife, I knew the conventional hospital model was not the right fit for me.

My labor began around 10pm after a long day in town and lasted roughly 16 hours. Although we believed my baby was early, he was fully formed, strong, and ready. My birth experience was intense, painful, beautiful, and deeply transformative — one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, and also one of the most empowering.

I talk about what shifted my perspective on homebirth, how witnessing physiological birth changed my life, and how preparing years in advance shaped my pregnancy, labor, and postpartum experience. My husband was my primary birth support, and together we navigated a birth that challenged me physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

This video is not medical advice — it is my personal experience and perspective. My hope is to offer insight, reflection, and education for women who are exploring their birth options and wanting to understand what homebirth can look like when supported and prepared for intentionally.
