Located in the northern Indo Gangetic plans of India Varanasi is one of the oldest cities and “The Spiritual Capital of India”.
The two tributaries, Varuna in the north and Assi in the south merges with Ganga here giving the city its name VARANASI. It’s also called Benaras or Kashi.

The Father of American Literature once said to describe this city……….

Benaras is a HUB for the Hindus. With approximately 23,000 temples and 88 ghats this city hails back to days of mythology when Lord Brahma is said to have built the Dashashwamedh Ghat to welcome Lord Shiva.
Gautam Buddha is believed to have founded Buddhism here around 528 BC when he gave his 1st sermon – The Setting in Motion of the Wheel of Dharma at Sarnath.
Tulsidas wrote the epic Ramcharitra Manas in Benaras.
Guru Nanak Sahib had visited this city during Maha Shivratri in the year 1507.
Kashi Vishwanath, Kaal Bhairav, Ma Annapurna, Durga Mata Mandir, Sankat Mochan Hanuman Mandir are the amongst 320 temples out of 23000 temples which are holy pilgrimages for Hindus.
Manikarnika Ghat is where it is believed the one attains Moksha if cremation happens apart from Harish Chandra Ghat.
Dashashwamedha Ghat, Tulsi Ghat, Assi Ghat, PanchGanga Ghat are amongst the 88 prominent ghats present in Varansi.
Keeping the religious side aside, Varanasi is a foodie’s paradise. Starting the day with kachori sabji, jalebi dahi, malai toast, butter toast, thali, bati chokha, tamatar chaat, palak chaat, lassi, malayo and ofcourse benarasi paan, it is unconditionally one of the best food destinations that one can think of.
Greedy Gulper has made a small trip for 4 days to Varanasi, are here are all the memories captured for you. This was out 1st trip and a short one hence we couldn’t cover the whole of Varanasi but tries to maximize our reach in the limited time available. We wish to soon go back and bring back more memories for us and our viewers.
