How to Install Corvette C3 WIPER MOTOR

Installation of the windshield wiper motor in a C3 Corvette is a very straightforward operation since only three nuts and bolts are used for securing the motor to the firewall.

Original wiper motors are very durable and rarely fail since they are equipped with a safety fail switch that prevents internal damage to the unit. In most cases, these factory units can be reconditioned quite easily and affordably and be returned to service.

There are aftermarket options, but the quality of construction and operation can leave a lot to be desired. So if a replacement wiper motor is necessary, your best bet is to find a good used working unit and use that instead. This way your wipers will operate properly for years.

Earlier C3 Corvette wiper motors had a built-in windshield washer pump, so make sure the replacement unit you purchase will work for your needs.

Other than that, installation is quite easy and in most cases, the original hardware can be reused. Just make sure all electrical connections are clean, especially the grounding terminal.
