Nate Morton Drum Cam 47 - Long Haired Country Boy

I do so love BOOM BAP BOOM BAP,.. I find great satisfaction in it! Maybe it was the first groove cavemen would've ever beaten out on a log... I don't know, but either way, I find great comfort in a nice big Boom Bap Boom Bap. This drum cam is all about the Boom Bap Boom Bap...

A note about the drum kit. For going on two decades I have been a proud Pearl Drums endorser and it is my intention to remain so to my dying day. That said, for a particular vibe, I wanted a single center lug vintage look kit in the collection. At the time, Pearl did not make such a kit. My drum tech, the amazing Steevo Morrison acquired the shells... we were after a "retro" sound, so the plies are a maple/poplar combination. All of the hardware, top to bottom, is Pearl... The kick drum hoops & spurs, the lugs, rims, tension rods... ALL Pearl. For my fellow drum nerds, the sizes are 26 x 14, 13 x 9, 16 x 16, 18 x 16... and that's a Pearl 14 x 6.5 Mahogany Free-floating snare.

This kit is called, "Grandma's Basement" because the back story is, if you were rummaging through your Grandma's basement, you might find, in cases and in pristine condition, a vintage drum set that belonged to a kid your grandma dated in her teens lets say... Maybe they had band practice there... but then sadly, their relationship ended... maybe he died in the war... and many years later, the kit is discovered in immaculate condition... and that's the origin story of "Grandma's Basement"... or at least the name...
