Ugandan opposition leader Bobi Wine has been placed under house arrest
a day after Uganda’s general elections. Early results show incumbent
President Yoweri Museveni in the lead as he seeks to extend his nearly
40-year rule. Museveni’s government has been accused of harsh
repression of opposition figures ahead of the vote and imposed an
internet blackout this week. Final presidential and parliamentary
results are expected tomorrow. Agora Centre for Research analyst
