In adult ESL settings, we not only develop students' language and literacy skills, but we also prepare them for college, the workforce, and deeper community involvement. It's a lot to do in limited timeframe and with limited resources! Project-based learning offers a way to organize instruction into meaningful units that is authentic, relevant, and results in a tangible product.
