It can significantly improve quality of life even in advanced stages of cancer. This approach is particularly beneficial for cancers that tend to spread to bones or other organs, where localized radiation can provide rapid pain relief and functional improvement.

She further highlighted that palliative radiation is commonly used in conditions like multiple myeloma, metastatic breast cancer, and prostate cancer, where bone pain or compression of vital structures can cause immense suffering. By using modern techniques, doctors can precisely target affected areas, minimize side effects, and achieve effective symptom relief in a short duration. Both doctors agreed that integrating palliative radiation with holistic care, including pain management, counseling, and family support, can help patients experience comfort, dignity, and peace during the final stages of life.
