Bank Heist” for the Atari 2600 is a fast-paced maze chase game released in 1983 by 20th Century Fox and designed by Bill Aspromonte. In this video, you’ll see pure retro gameplay as you control the iconic Getaway Car through a maze-like city inspired by classics like Pac-Man. Your mission is simple but thrilling: rob as many banks as you can while avoiding relentless police pursuit.
Each bank you rob spawns a cop car—and a new bank—turning every city into an escalating challenge of risk and reward. You must also manage your limited fuel, refill by switching cities, and use dynamite to destroy enemy cars. But be careful: one wrong move and your own car can be blown up. The game features up to three cop cars on screen, difficulty switches that change enemy intelligence and bank positions, and the chance to earn extra lives by robbing nine banks in a single city.
This gameplay captures the tense cat-and-mouse experience that made Bank Heist a standout title on the Atari 2600.
