The Galyat region is located about 50–80 km northeast of Islamabad, Pakistan, along the border of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. The name “Galyat” comes from the Urdu word gali, which means a passage between two mountains with valleys on both sides. Many towns in this area have “gali” in their names. Galyat is a popular summer vacation spot in Pakistan. Murree, one of the most famous hill stations in the country, is the largest town in this region.
