In February 2019, Leah set out on her two-mile walk from Emerson Valley to her job in Knowlhill—and vanished without trace. We examine her life and background, trace every confirmed sighting and police search effort through 2019–2022, and reveal how a tip-off in October 2022 led to the discovery of her remains in a Furzton loft. Through official statements, court records, and the June 2024 inquest, learn how the coroner’s verdict of “unlawful killing” by convicted sex offender Neil Maxwell exposed systemic failures in probation and police monitoring. Finally, we review the Prevention of Future Deaths report and the reforms now underway to ensure medium-risk offenders cannot slip through the cracks again.
