In the 1980s, Henry N. Wagner, Jr., MD, began giving highlights lectures at the end of the SNMMI Annual Meeting. He would present the research that, from his point of view, represented the future of the nuclear medicine and molecular imaging field. But there was one that always rose above the rest, the most cutting-edge of them all that would be named Image of the Year.
This is SNMMI's most prestigious award. This year, the 2025 Image of the Year is presented for the abstract "Can [18F]FDG-PET/CT Predict PD-L1 Expression in Head and Neck Carcinoma? A Head-to-Head Comparison with a Novel PD-L1 PET Tracer."
The research team includes Yong Wang, Zhiguo Liu, Jinming Yu, and Man Hu, of Shandong Cancer Hospital and Institute, Shandong First Medical University and Shandong Academy of Medical Sciences, Jinan, Shandong, China.
