The Universal postal union celebrates its 150th anniversary

The UPU was founded on October 9, 1874. It has its headquarters in Bern, Switzerland, contrarily to other UN agencies that have their seat in Geneva. Thanks to this international organisation, mailing across countries is a bit less chaotic than it previously was. The UPU members have agreed on standard envelope sizes and stamps layouts.
