In this installation I focus on planning and sanding the surfboard blank to its intended thickness. I had limited time at the shop that day and it was basically a big time lapse. I'm going for a 10'2 x 23 x 3 board. the blank is domed and nearly 4 inches thick. I tried a voice over to explain what I'm doing in the time lapse.
I decided when I started planning the top of the blank to leave the dome. it was 3 1/16 inches thick when I was done. The next video will either capture Jeff planning his deck or me planning the channels for the concaves on the bottom of the deck. Let me know what you think. I'm open to shaping tips and techniques.
