صائب تبریزی، شاعر بلندآوازهٔ قرن یازدهم هجری، یکی از درخشان‌ترین چهره‌های سبک هندی در شعر فارسی است؛ شاعری که توانست با نیروی تخیل جسورانه، نکته‌سنجی ظریف و تصویرسازی‌های بدیع، افق تازه‌ای برای غزل فارسی بگشاید. او استاد تبدیل ساده‌ترین تجربه‌های روزمره به تأملات عمیق انسانی بود؛ گویی هر حادثهٔ کوچک برایش پلی بود به سوی معنایی بزرگ‌تر. صائب شعر را فقط وسیله‌ای برای اظهار احساسات نمی‌دید، بلکه آن را ابزاری برای نشان دادن پیچیدگی‌های روح انسان، ناپایداری دنیا و حقیقت‌های پنهان در پشت ظاهر امور می‌دانست. زبان او سرشار از ضرب‌المثل‌های تازه، استعاره‌های زنده و حکمت‌های کوتاهی است که در ذهن خواننده ماندگار می‌شوند. گسترهٔ سفرهایش از تبریز تا اصفهان، هندوستان و ماوراءالنهر، نگاه او را وسیع و تجربه‌اش را ژرف‌تر کرد؛ همین باعث شد شعرش تنوع معنایی و تصویری کم‌نظیری پیدا کند. ص خوائب تبریزی با بیش از صد هزار بیت در دیوان خود، نه‌تنها یکی از پُرکارترین شاعران زبان فارسی است، بلکه به‌عنوان «سلطان مضمون‌سازی» نیز شناخته می‌شود؛ کسی که غزل فارسی را به اوج‌های تازه‌ای رساند و سایهٔ تأثیرش هنوز بر شعر معاصر باقی است.
