Red-breasted Merganser, Serreta mediana (Mergus serrator)

🎥 The video shows an immature Red-breasted Merganser eating a fish. That moment was very special for me. As I was walking near a boat in the port, a man approached and told me I wasn’t allowed to be there. I explained that I was following a bird to make a video. He smiled and said, “Don’t say anything… but follow me.”

He guided me through an area filled with scrap metal, and in front of the sea, the rocks were covered with birds. There, I recorded this video — the Red-breasted Merganser catching its meal. I felt blessed… and I cried.

✨ What do we do after having amazing moments? Sometimes we feel on top of the world… and then suddenly, we are not. Life is about long-term commitment — about embracing both the good and the bad with a positive attitude.

🎥 El video muestra una serreta mediana juvenil comiendo un pez. Ese momento fue muy especial para mí. Mientras caminaba junto a un barco en el puerto, un hombre se acercó y me dijo que no podía estar allí. Le expliqué que estaba siguiendo a un ave para grabar un video. Sonrió y me dijo: “No digas nada… pero sígueme”.

Me llevó a un área llena de chatarra, y frente al mar las rocas estaban cubiertas de aves. Allí grabé este video: la serreta mediana comiendo su presa. Me sentí bendecida… y lloré.
