In the North Atlantic, in the area where Soviet Navy ships conduct maneuvers, a U.S. nuclear submarine suffers an accident. A sailor who has lost his mind activates the computer, which launches two missiles toward the Soviet ships. Soviet sailors shoot down the missiles and sink the submarine. A global catastrophe is averted at a high cost.
