Childhood trauma is an interesting but rarely discussed topic in mainstream society. There are many reasons for this but the most obvious reason is that children are often not thought of as having experienced childhood trauma. They are also not thought of as individuals in our society who are experiencing hardships, challenges, or terrifying experiences.

But it is important we understand childhood trauma so that we can understand why adults in our society and in our lives behave and think the way they do. We have to understand how our childhood has impacted us to understand who we are. Sometimes this is essential and sometimes it is not.
