Today, we are delighted to feature Professor Gillian Duchesne AM. Professor Duchesne is a distinguished figure in the field of radiation oncology. Renowned for her groundbreaking work in urological cancers with over two decades of experience at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, she has been instrumental in advancing radiation treatment technologies and improving patient outcomes.

Trained in Clinical Oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, she has extensive experience working in prestigious institutions such as the Middlesex Hospital and University College London, where she was also a member of the Education Board of our sister College the Royal College of Radiologists UK.

As the Chair of the Scientific Committee of TROG and a member and Dean of the FRO Council and subsequently of the Board of RANZCR, Professor Duchesne has been at the forefront of both oncological research and clinical practice and patient advocacy by generously volunteering in various roles over the years, contributing her time, expertise, and passion to advance our mission.

Professor Duchesne's dedication to her field is reflected in her numerous publications and active involvement in clinical trials aimed at optimising treatment protocols for prostate and bladder cancers.

Her contributions have earned her the highest honours in her field, including RANZCR Gold Medal. She was also awarded the honour of being made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2020.

Professor Duchesne has inspired and led the next generation of oncologists, making a significant impact on the fight against cancer.
