The homeowner of this Uxbridge home, which was built in 1821 has been charged with arson after allegedly setting his home on fire around 4pm on Wed, July 3 2013.
Neighbors head several explosions and saw the owner leaving the property on his bike and when he returned about 20 minutes later, he was place under arrest.
The house was fully involved when firefighters arrived and quickly called for a 2nd alarm for tankers. There are no hydrants in the area so dump tanks had to be set up for a water supply.
An exterior attack was initiated and it took about an hour to knock down the heavy fire. A few firefighters were treated with heat related injuries but none serious.
