Into The Unknown | Warrior Cats OC MAP Part 9

This is one of my proudest animations yet!

This one features my oldest warrior cat ocs! The main ones you see are Hawk, Snow, Honey, and Thorn. In the background of the second shot you can catch a glimpse of Wolf, Cherry, and Smokey. These characters mean the world to me, and I'm glad I got to use them once again in another MAP part!

I'm proud of all the movement I fit in, aswell as the backgrounds. This MAP was very environment centered. I wanted to show off my background skills to the best of my ability! I practiced a few different techniques for the animation and background styles; I think they all blend together beautifully.

The last shot was a struggle, as you can see in the process bits. I originally wanted to do a bit scene with all the cats in the new territory, but I was running short on the deadline and just couldn't make it work. I was going to scrap the entirety, but instead I managed to shift that background into the second shot and just give a closeup of Hawk for the last one! I'm glad I got to keep the background in, since I poured many hours into it.

Adding onto that: I am SO PROUD of how the final shot came out! There were a lot of individual pieces I had to stick together to get his flowing fur to look right. I think the eye blink and his ears turning came out so smooth, too! I cannot believe I did that.

(Script): Hawk leads his colony into the woods in search of a safe home for his new mate, Snow, who is fleeing her former mate in the city. Even though he wants to keep his mate safe, he can't help but feel guilty when he looks towards his former mate, Honey. Honey's son Sunrush chose to stay behind in the city (with Hawk's encouragement) to be a house cat with his mate Maple. Honey misses her son, and is now left to raise Thorn, a kit that Hawk had "adopted" for her.
