We visit with author, researcher, naturalist and ultrarunner Bernd Heinrich at his home nestled in the hills of western Maine. He is best known for his research in the behavior and physiology of insects. Heinrich's 1979 book, “Bumblebee Economics,” was his first of nearly two dozen, with subjects ranging from biology to running to his reflections on the natural world.
Borealis is made possible by the generous support of The Nature Conservancy Maine, The Maine Office of Tourism, Poland Spring, Evergreen Home Performance, The Conservation Fund, and viewers like you!
