In New Earth, Joker tricks Superman into killing the Pregnant Lois Lane, killing their unborn child and triggering a nuclear bomb that destroys the whole City, Metropolis. This leads Superman to adopt a tyrannical approach to world peace, causing division among the Justice League and spreading Dictatorship over Countries. Batman forms a resistance, but internal conflicts and escalating violence culminate in Superman allying with Ra's al Ghul and when there seems to be no hope, The Dead Man Rise to Save the World !
