Most Thai boys spend time on retreat in their neighborhood temple. Even the King of Chiang Mai did so in his youth. It's an ancient tradition known in Sanskrit as 'brahmacharya' - the study of the Divine. Here some youngsters are receiving gifts from passersby, parents, family and friends on their way into the temple.
