My longest NYC bike ride ended up being my most challenging for not so obvious reasons. Google offered me the long route home, which I accepted. Then the GPS tried to change the route multiple times but my mind was set on the loop. I should have taken its advice...A few scary minutes and 1 van way too close, too fast... Ultimately, it's my fault for not doing enough research on the 2nd half of the trip. I'd taken the 1st half a few times. I do recommend the ride to the beach, it's really very nice, but don't circle JFK on the way back like I did!
