Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah has moved to court to halt the Kenya US Health Cooperation Agreement, arguing that it violates the Constitution, bypasses key institutions, and risks exposing Kenyans’ personal health data to exploitation. He says the deal treats citizens’ medical information as state property, ignores devolved health structures, commits Kenya to huge financial obligations without approval, and could open the country to unethical medical experimentation.
Omtatah accuses the government of acting outside the law and vows to push the case up to the Supreme Court.
