गोपालगंज के Thawe Bhavani Mandir में हुई 1.8 करोड़ रुपये की चोरी कोई सामान्य वारदात नहीं थी, बल्कि पूरी तरह digital planning और data-based crime का मामला निकला. UP के गाजीपुर का रहने वाला दीपक राय इस साजिश का मास्टरमाइंड था, जिसने Google और YouTube के जरिए मंदिर की ऑनलाइन रेकी की. गर्भगृह, आभूषण, लॉकर, एंट्री-एग्ज़िट पॉइंट—हर चीज़ की जानकारी पहले से जुटाई गई थी. 17 दिसंबर की रात प्लान को अंजाम दिया गया और करीब 50 किलो की दानपेटी समेत सोने-चांदी के आभूषण चोरी कर लिए गए.
The theft of ₹1.8 crore from the Thawe Bhavani Temple in Gopalganj was no ordinary crime, but rather a case of meticulously planned, data-driven digital crime. Deepak Rai, a resident of Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh, was the mastermind behind the plot, having conducted online reconnaissance of the temple using Google and YouTube. Information about the sanctum sanctorum, the ornaments, the lockers, and the entry and exit points—everything was gathered in advance. The plan was executed on the night of December 17, and gold and silver ornaments, along with a donation box weighing approximately 50 kg, were stolen.
