Ferrari 488 Challenge EVO - 660Hp V8 Twin-Turbo Engine - 2020 Corse Clienti at Imola Circuit

I enjoyed filming the Ferrari 488 Challenge EVO in action during the 2020 round of Ferrari Corse Clienti at the Imola Circuit. The car was announced at the end of 2019 with all the evolutions compared to the previous model, but they could not take to the track until July with the first race of the European championship right on the Italian circuit. The rules still too stringent didn't allow me to access the track; what you see was filmed outside. The Maranello technicians have concentrated a lot on general aerodynamics, intervening in several parts and modifying the front. The efficiency is therefore improved by 30% compared to the previous 488 Challenge. Mechanically, the 3.9-Liter V8 Twin-Turbo engine develops 660hp at 8,000 rpm moved by the 7-speed Ferrari F1 DCT gearbox. The performances are incredible: 0-100 Km/h in 3 seconds and about 330 Km/h of maximum speed. On Pista di Fiorano this model achieved a time of 1:15.5, only 1 second slower than the FXX-K, this gives an idea of ​​how high the performances are. Ho avuto il piacere di filmare in azione le Ferrari 488 Challenge EVO durante il round 2020 del Ferrari Corse Clienti sul Circuito di Imola. La vettura era stata annunciata alla fine del 2019 con tutte le evoluzioni rispetto al modello precedente ma non sono potute scendere in pista se non nel mese di Luglio con la prima gara del campionato Europeo proprio sulla pista Italiana. Le norme ancora troppo stringenti in quel periodo non mi hanno permesso di accedere alla pista, quello che vedete è stato filmato fuori dal tracciato. I tecnici di Maranello si sono concentrati moltissimo sull'aerodinamica generale intervenendo in più parti e modificando il frontale. L'efficienza è quindi migliorata del 30% rispetto alla precedente 488 Challenge. Meccanicamente il motore da 3.9-Litri V8 Twin-Turbo sviluppa 660cv ad 8.000 giri/min mosso dal cambio Ferrari F1 DCT a 7 rapporti. Le prestazioni sono incredibili: 0-100Km/h in 3 secondi e circa330 KM/h di velocità massima. Sulla pista di Fiorano ha ottenuto il tempo di 1:15.5, solamente 1 secondo più lento del modello FXX-K, questo rende l'idea di quanto siano alte le prestazioni in senso assoluto.
