How to knit leg warmers with self striping yarn on double pointed needles

Yarn Used:
Freckled Whimsy - 2022 Advent 24 stripe skein

Held with undyed sock yarn, held 2 strands total
Size 6, double pointed needles used
Cast on 72 stitches
2 X 2 rib (knit 2, pearl 2) for 2 and 1/2 inches
knit for 9 inches
Increased 4 stitches evenly around on one row
Knit for 4 more inches
2 X 2 rib (knit 2, pearl 2) for 4 ½ inches
bind off loosely
